A case has been registered against the driver of a car coming from Nawalpur in Hetauda towards Hetauda Bazaar for attempted murder and the vehicle owner for indecent behavior, after the driver dragged the police and fled while the traffic police were conducting a sobriety test.

A case has been registered in the district court for the murder of the driver, 46-year-old Basudev Acharya of Gardoi, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-5. 

A case of indecent behavior has been registered at the District Administration Office against the driver, 43-year-old Radhika BK of Hetauda-19, DSP Pushkar Bogati, spokesperson of the District Police Makawanpur, said. Police allege that the driver BK helped the car and driver involved in the incident flee. Driver Acharya  and the driver BK were arrested by the police on Saturday.

When a team from the District Traffic Office at Thanabharyang, Hetauda-11, stopped the car on Friday night and tried to conduct a breathalyzer test, the driver suddenly closed the window and dragged the policeman 10 meters away on the road and fled. The policeman suffered injuries to his head, arms and legs when the car dragged him on the road. 18 stitches were placed on his head. He is being treated at the Cooperative Hospital in Hetauda.

During the search of the car that injured the police while trying to check, the car with the number Ba 6 Cha 8409 and the driver Acharya were arrested from Bharatpur, Chitwan on Saturday along with a breathalyzer machine. The police have stated that the car owner BK was arrested from his house.  The driver had driven away the car with the breathalyzer machine  .
