More than 15,000 chicken chicks have been burnt to death in a fire at a poultry farm in Gaurigaun, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-17.

The Bagmati Province Police Office, Hetauda, ​​has informed that the fire broke out when the gas burner used to brood chicks at the Pashupati Poultry Farm run by Raju Adhikari of Kamane, Hetauda-8 caught fire due to excessive temperature.

There were 16,182 3-day-old chicks in the same cage when the fire broke out. Of the 900 chicks in the cage, 900 have been rescued. The remaining 15,282 chicks were burnt to death.

The fire was brought under control with the help of locals and the police. It is said that there was no damage to human or other physical structures due to the fire.
