Due to the lack of a health facility on the Bandeu-Balefi section of the Araniko Highway, road accident victims and tourists have been forced to travel far for treatment.
Basic health services have been expanded in Sukute, the center of the Bhotekoshi and Sunkoshi river regions, famous for adventure rafting.
Former MP Madhav Sapkota and Mayor Krishna Prasad Sapkota inaugurated the building of the Health Service Center in Sukute, Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality-10 of the district on Friday.
The free health check-up camp organized on the occasion of the inauguration provided eye check-up, cervical cancer screening and physiotherapy services targeted at senior citizens. Along with locals, tourists and Araniko Highway users also availed services from the camp.
According to Dinesh Nepal, head of the municipal health branch, one AHEB and one ANMIKO post has been approved in the health service center. 'This will easily provide regular primary health care to Sukute and surrounding settlements,' he said.

According to Mayor Sapkota, Sukute is not only a tourist destination but also an accident-prone area, so the municipality aims to develop a hospital focused on emergency treatment and accident management in the coming days.

With the launch of the health service center in Sukute, which is becoming a center for tourism and highway traffic, it is expected that tourists along with locals will receive immediate health services.
