One person has died in a road accident that occurred in Lokanthali, Bhaktapur this morning.
The accident killed 32-year-old Swastika Air Badal. The motorcycle driver, her husband Karan Singh Badal, 34, a resident of Kirtipur in Kathmandu, who is from Darchula, was seriously injured.
The motorcycle (Ba 23 Pa 9234) coming from Kathmandu towards Bhaktapur was hit by a diesel tanker (Na 7 Kha 9266) coming from the opposite direction.
Metropolitan Police Circle Thimika DSP Namraj Dhungana said that the injured Badal is undergoing treatment. The police have taken both the vehicles and the tanker driver, Prashant Bal, 25, a resident of Amlekhgunj, Bara Jitpur, Simara Sub-metropolitan City-21, under control and have kept them in Thimika Police Circle.
