As winter sets in in Hetauda, the Division Forest Office, Makawanpur, has distributed firewood to various old age homes and temples in Hetauda. Keeping in mind the problems faced by the elderly and the general public due to the cold, the office distributed the firewood on Tuesday.
The forest office has distributed firewood with the aim of providing relief by heating the fire during the cold season. According to the forest office, firewood has been distributed to Om Vriddhashram in Chowkitol, Hetauda-2, Bhubaneswar Pashupatinath Temple in Hetauda-4, Laxminarayan Temple in Hetauda-5, and Gorakeshwor Temple in Rapti Tat, Hetauda-10.
The firewood was distributed specifically to protect the elderly from the cold, said Yadabinder Poudel, head of the security branch of the Division Forest Office. “The office has distributed firewood after seeking help from various community forests,” he said.
If the disabled and underprivileged groups affected by the cold demand firewood, the office will arrange for transportation and provide firewood. Poudel said that firewood is being distributed according to the needs and demands of the locals.
