The 12th Street Food Festival in Hetauda is underway from Sunday. The Makawanpur Hotel Association has organized the street food festival on the road at Chaur in Hoopra, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-4.
The street food festival organized by the Hotel Association Makawanpur with the slogan ‘Let’s go on the road, eat on the road, enjoy on the road’ was inaugurated by Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City Mayor Meena Kumari Lama on Sunday afternoon.
The Hotel Association has been organizing the street food festival continuously for the past 11 years. The festival will run from 4 pm to 9 pm until Poush 16, according to the organizers.
Dinesh Govinda Shrestha, President of the Hotel Association Makawanpur, said that dishes ranging from cultural to modern and traditional food are being sold at the festival. There are about 60 stalls at the festival. A fee of Rs 10,000 is charged for 4 days to set up a stall.
The organizers have stated that special attention will be paid to the purity of the food ingredients and businessmen will be asked to manage waste daily. Each stall has a food menu.
The organizers estimate that the festival will cost Rs 1.572 million and the stall will generate business of Rs 70 to 8 million. The organizers estimate that 30 to 40 thousand visitors will attend the festival.
