The 13th Ratnanagar Festival is scheduled to be held from Poush 25 to Magh 6.
The festival, which will be held at Tikauli Chaur on the east-west Mahendra Highway, is organized by the Ratnanagar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The organizers have informed that there will be 450 stalls related to national, international and multinational products including industry, trade, agriculture, tourism, local art and culture in the festival.
At a press conference held in Sauraha on Monday, Shankar Giri, president of the Ratnanagar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and coordinator of the main organizing committee of the festival, said that more than four lakh visitors will visit the festival and an economic turnover of more than Rs 250 million will be generated. He said that this will boost the economy, which has been sluggish due to the Genji movement.
He said that the festival will also protect and promote indigenous crops with the slogan 'Don't forget the taste of our ancestors' time, let's protect our indigenous culture and traditional memories'.
A food festival will also be held here for five days from Poush 29 to Magh 4. Chairman Giri said that the food festival to be held at Sauraha Chowk Bus Park will also serve traditional dishes cooked in the kitchens of the ethnic groups of Chitwan.
A job fair will also be held during the festival period. He said that the agricultural technology exhibition to be held within the festival premises will have stalls of bananas, fish, mushrooms, dairy products, poultry products, traditional crops and honey. The Ratnanagar festival has been held every two years.
