5 absconding defendants convicted in various cases arrested

Five people who were found guilty in various cases and absconding have been arrested. They were arrested on Sunday while hiding in their village during a search operation.

Police have arrested Pankaj Mandal of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-9 while he was hiding at home. The District Court, Makawanpur, had sentenced Mandal to 1 year and 26 days in prison and a fine of Rs 200 five years ago in an assault case. Similarly, Shankar Sarki, 35, of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-6 has been arrested. The court had imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on him in a vehicular homicide case. Rajkumar Chaulagain, 35, of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-6, has been arrested in a check dishonor case. Similarly, Rohit Mijar, 26, of Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-5, and Rachin Budhathoki, 34, of Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-3 have been arrested.

Deputy Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Makawanpur, Puskar Bogati said that they were arrested in a check dishonor case. According to the District Police Office, Makawanpur, 42 absconding accused have been arrested from the month of Shrawan to Poush 13 of the current fiscal year.
