Singh was elected from Makawanpur-1 in the previous House of Representatives elections held in 2079 BS. Singh also held the responsibility of the chairman of the Infrastructure Development Committee in the House of Representatives.
The meeting has recommended the names of Umesh Thapa and Nawaraj Thapaliya, Arun Lama, Manoj Kumar Moktan and Balkrishna Shrestha, Saraswati Kumari Thing and Manisha Syangtan, Hirakumari Bhatta, Hirakumari Chaurel, Sandesh Pariyar, Dipu Sunar and Shukraraj Praja for the proportional representation.
