The Sindhuli District Administration has issued a curfew order to control the tension that arose after the murder of 32-year-old Sushila Ghising Bomjan of Dhuraphant, Kamalamai Municipality-4, Sindhuli by pouring petrol on her body and setting her on fire.

The house of Bomjan, who was set on fire by pouring petrol last Sunday, was pelted with stones on Thursday afternoon.

An attempt was made to bring the situation under control by mobilizing security personnel after a large number of angry locals and the victim's side, who said that family members had entered the sealed house with the intention of destroying evidence, surrounded the house and vandalized it. However, Sindhuli Police Chief SP Laldhwaj Subedi said that a curfew order was issued after the situation could not be brought under control.

The order states, ‘During the said period, vehicle movement, gatherings and gatherings of more than five people are prohibited. Movement of vehicles other than general and essential vehicles, any kind of gatherings and gathering-related activities, and gatherings of more than five people are prohibited within Kamalamai Municipality-4, including Gwang Khola in the east, Madan Bhandari Highway in the west, Kumal Phat in the north, and Dhura Bazaar Chowk in the south.’

Last Sunday, Bamjan of Dhura Bazaar is accused of being systematically set on fire in the kitchen by her mother-in-law, 59-year-old Mayarani Bamjan, and 35-year-old Nanda Meena Lama (Bamjan). Both the accused have been arrested.
