One person died in a landslide while quarrying stones in Roshi, Ward No. 12 of Panauti Municipality, Kavre, at 5:30 pm on Tuesday.
According to Chief Superintendent of Police Komal Shah of the District Police Office, Kavre, the deceased excavator driver has been identified as Ram Bahadur Timalsina, aged 35, a resident of Khanikhola Rural Municipality Ward No. 2 and currently residing in Sunthan, Panauti Municipality Ward No. 9. He died on the spot. According to him, Ishwar Gurung, aged 35, a tipper driver from Panauti Municipality Ward No. 12, was injured after being buried in a landslide. He has been rescued and sent to the Shir Memorial Hospital in the district for treatment, informed Police Chief Shah. The police said that other details about the incident are yet to be released.
