Students at Kandeshwari Basic School in the hilly village of Kanda have received stationery, warm clothes, and snacks.
The school, which is located in Kanda, Rapti Municipality-13, has 165 students from the Chepang community. Fitzone Parsa of Khairhani collected the materials and provided them to the children on Sunday in Kanda.
The children, who were staying free of cost in the Kumar Balaram Memorial Hostel run by Laxmi Pratishthan in Kanda, are studying at Kandeshwari School in Adai.
Seeing that they were short of stationery, Parsa Fitzone, through its activities, collaborated with the Chitwan District Physical Education and Fitness Association and the Chitwan Industry Association Khairhani's Women Entrepreneurs Forum to collect the necessary materials, informed local leader Murali Prasad Gajurel.
Gajurel said that 1,440 copies worth about one lakh rupees, 300 pencils, erasers, white boards and other educational materials were provided. Similarly, he said that 160 warm hats, 175 pairs of socks, 50 kg of potatoes, along with items such as bran, dal, bread, noodles, biscuits, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and warm clothes have been provided for young children and the elderly in the village.
It is necessary to walk for at least three hours on foot through the mountainous terrain to reach Kanda, a remote settlement in Rapti Municipality.
