The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has released a souvenir titled 'Journalism Mirror' on the occasion of its 33rd foundation day in Kavre. The souvenir was jointly released by the Federation's central president Nirmala Sharma, Bagmati Province district president Krishna Saru Magar, district president Binod Kumar Neupane and former district presidents on Wednesday.

The souvenir covers topics ranging from the history of Kavreli journalism to new-age journalism, said Branch President Neupane. On the occasion of the foundation day, Central President Sharma also unveiled the website of the Kavre branch.

At the program, President Sharma said that all parties should be vigilant as there have been attacks on the press and freedom of expression in recent times, and that the Federation of Nepali Journalists will continue to advocate for constitutional supremacy and freedom of expression.

She said that after the country entered federalism, the Central Committee of the Federation of Nepali Journalists has focused on policy-level issues and the responsibility of capacity building of journalists has increased in the provincial and district branches. Sharma said that even though technology is being used to the maximum extent and the number of digital media is increasing, the importance of print media has not diminished.

Federation of Nepali Journalists' Kavre branch President Neupane announced that all journalists in the district will be provided with accident insurance worth Rs 500,000. He also demanded that the amount collected from ordinary members in the name of the Journalists Welfare Fund at the center be returned to the district. He also informed that the Federation of Journalists Kavre has established a welfare fund worth Rs. 1 million in the district.
