A pedestrian has died after being hit by a bus in Patlegaun, Namobuddha Municipality-2, Kavre.
According to Police Inspector Bednarayan Shrestha of the Kavre Police Office, the accident occurred at around 9 am on Sunday morning in Patlegaun of the Dhulikhel-Bhakunde section along the BP Highway. Shrestha said that 82-year-old Pot Bahadur Katuwal of Patlegaun in Namobuddha-2 died when a passenger bus (Ba Pra-01-006 Kha 4808) heading from Dhulikhel to Bhakunde hit the vehicle.
Locals have blocked the highway after the accident. He said that efforts have been made to open the highway after discussions with the victim's family and transport entrepreneurs. The police have taken the bus and the driver under control.
