A laborer has died after falling during the construction of a tunnel for a hydropower project under construction near Bigu-1 Lapchi in Dolakha.

The deceased has been identified as Shukra Bahadur Rai of Manebhanjyang Rural Municipality-5 in Okhaldhunga, police said.

Rai, who was working at Babri Hydro Construction after falling during the construction of a tunnel for the 56-megawatt Sanima Hydropower Project, was brought to the Dolakha branch of Dhulikhel Hospital for treatment on Monday.

Rai died on Tuesday during treatment.  Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
