Sanukancha Syangtan, 81, of Bhalukharka, Indrasarobar Rural Municipality-2, Makawanpur, used to have good eyesight until two years ago.
As the problem gradually worsened, she lost the sight in both her eyes since 2080. Her granddaughter had been helping her to get inside and outside.
She came to the eye camp run by Indrasarovar Rural Municipality with the help of her granddaughter to get tested. When the doctor examined her, it was found that she had cataracts in both her eyes.
After the test, she was called to Khanikhet in Indrasarovar for surgery on Saturday. Where the camp was being run jointly by the Rotary Club Hetauda, Community Eye Hospital Hetauda and Indrasarovar Rural Municipality. Sanukancha also underwent eye surgery at the same camp.
A total of 67 people who reached the camp underwent cataract surgery, and Dr. Sunil Thakali said. 350 people were tested in the camp held at five locations.
After the surgery, the doctor bandaged everyone's eyes. Which was opened on Sunday.
Dr. Thakali removed the bandages on both of Sanukancha's eyes. His wife was sitting in front. As soon as he removed the bandages, he looked ahead and smiled when he saw his wife.
Sanukancha is shocked after the sight in both eyes returned after two years. 'I had not been able to see the old woman's face for two years. Now I am very happy to be able to see with both eyes,' he said with a laugh.
After being able to see with both eyes, he walked briskly towards home with his wife.
