The Bagmati Province government has initiated a process to provide interest-free loans to poor citizens for income-generating and skill-building activities.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Pashupatinath Secondary School in Manahari Rural Municipality-4, Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya informed about this. ‘As soon as I became the Chief Minister, I took an oath to work in a poor, justice-oriented, village-oriented, income-oriented, development-oriented and people-oriented manner,’ he said, ‘The provincial government is working with the goal of making the poor a breadwinner, so that the common citizen can directly feel it.’
Stating that the provincial government is going to build houses for 1,000 poor families, he also informed that preparations are being made to provide interest-free loans of Rs 200,000 to the poor under the slogan of providing them with a roof, food and other necessities. Established in 2032 BS, Pashupati Secondary School has 578 students. The school, which studies endangered forest animals, has 15 teachers.
