Those who attacked doctors and health workers at Baghauda Hospital in Madi Municipality have been arrested.
On Thursday night, a group of four or five youths attacked doctors and health workers.
Area Police Office Madi Police Inspector Kiran Rai informed that four accused were arrested after the hospital filed a complaint on Friday. Those arrested are Kiran Khati, Sangam Tiwari, Bikash Gurung and Prakash Gautam of Madi. Police said that further investigation is underway into the incident.
'The doctors are saying that a case will be filed for assault, the assault case will be filed directly in court,' Police Inspector Rai said.
According to Dr. Dhiranjan Kumar Sah, Acting Medical Superintendent of Baghauda Hospital, the attack took place inside the hospital premises at 10:15 pm on Thursday. He said that the youths attacked after consuming alcohol. According to Dr. Sah, Dr. Dipendra Biswas, Dr. Devenda Biswas, Hea Anup Subedi, Kabiraj Tiwari and other doctors and health workers were beaten to the point of causing injuries. He informed that they also used abusive language and abused them.
Senior Vice President of Nepal Medical Association Chitwan, Dr. Dipendra Neupane, has demanded that the culprits be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
