A child from Bakaiya Rural Municipality of Makawanpur has drowned in a river. 7-year-old Aviraj Ghalan from Bakaiya-9 Shikharpur died after drowning in a river.
While he was with his parents in the field to pick up sheaves of rice, he went swimming in the Bangda River near the field. When he did not return after swimming, his parents went to the river and saw him drowning unconscious, so they rescued him and brought him home.
He was immediately taken to Hetauda Hospital for treatment, but he died during treatment, according to the District Police Office, Hetauda.
