The Makwanpur District Court has sentenced a young man to 12 years in prison for raping a girl. The court has also ordered a fine of Rs 500,000.
The bench of District Judge Geeta Shrestha held on Thursday and found Ganesh Ghewa, 25, of Makawanpur Gadhi Rural Municipality-2, to have raped a 14-year-old girl from Makawanpur Gadhi-7. Ghewa is a tipper driver. The incident took place in the village on Chaitra 25, 2081. Ghewa is in the Bhimphedi Regional Jail.
