An elderly pedestrian has died after being hit by a motorcycle at Hattisudhe, Bakaiya Rural Municipality-3, Makawanpur, under the Madan Bhandari Highway. The motorcycle driver and the passenger behind the motorcycle have sustained minor injuries.
Khadak Bahadur Ghalan, a 71-year-old pedestrian from Bakaiya Rural Municipality-3, died after being hit by a motorcycle bearing the number Ba 58 Pa 3318, which was heading towards Phaparwari from Hetauda.
Ghalan, who was seriously injured in the motorcycle accident, died at Churehill Hospital in Hetauda, said Deputy Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Makawanpur, Pushkar Bogati.
The elderly Ghalan was walking towards his home on the side of the road. He was hit by a motorcycle coming at a high speed. The motorcycle driver, Devraj Bik, 25, of Bakaiya Rural Municipality-7, and the motorcycle rider, Devraj Dhanuk, 20, of Bagmati Rural Municipality-6, suffered minor injuries.
Both the injured have been discharged after treatment at the Hattisudhe Medical College. Police have taken the motorcycle driver Devraj Bik into custody.
