Rape convict sentenced to 7 years in prison, fined Rs. 300,000

District Judge Geeta Shrestha's bench on Thursday convicted 43-year-old Modnath Dhakal of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-19 of raping a 50-year-old woman from Hetauda and ordered him to serve seven years in prison, a fine of Rs 300,000, and pay Rs 100,000 in compensation to the victim.

The Makawanpur District Court has sentenced a convict to 7 years in prison for raping a woman.

District Judge Geeta Shrestha's bench on Thursday sentenced Modnath Dhakal, 43, of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-19, to seven years in prison, a fine of Rs 300,000 and a compensation of Rs 100,000 to the victim for raping a 50-year-old woman from Hetauda. The perpetrator, Dhakal, had gone to her house on Asad 25, 2081 and raped the woman. Dhakal is being held in the Bhimphedi Regional Jail for remand. 

Similarly, the Makawanpur District Court has decided to sentence three youths to six years in prison each for brown sugar trafficking. The bench of District Judge Geeta Shrestha on Wednesday sentenced Nawaraj Bhatta, 36, of Hetauda-2, Subu Gurung of Makawanpurgadhi-4 and Suraj Pandey, 34, of brown sugar trafficking to the same punishment. 

From Hetauda-2 The police arrested the three people on 28th Magh 2081 along with 4 grams 230 milligrams of brown sugar. All three are being held in the Bhimphedi Regional Jail pending trial.
