Concrete bridge under construction over Chiruwa River in Bagmati

Construction of a concrete bridge at a cost of more than Rs 50 million has begun at Chiruwakhola in Bagmati Rural Municipality-3 of Makawanpur.

The Bagmati Province Government is investing in the construction of a bridge connecting Lakhankhahare-Gyanmandir Basic School Chiruwagadhan. An agreement has been signed with the construction company to complete the construction by Asad 30, 2083 at a cost of 5.553 million rupees. The construction contract for the bridge has been taken by Om Nirman Sewa. The bridge will be 40 meters long and 8.40 meters wide. The construction of the bridge has been undertaken by Bagmati Province Assembly member Prem Bahadur.

Locals have been facing problems during the rainy season due to the lack of a bridge. Village Council Chairman Sarkesh Ghalan said that after the construction of the bridge, it will be easier for local residents to reach the rural municipality office, district headquarters and health institutions for treatment.

After the construction of the concrete bridge in Chiruwagadhan, it will be convenient to bring agricultural and livestock products produced by the residents of the Chiruwagadhan area, which is a remote settlement of the municipality, to the market and facilitate local movement. Ward Chairman Kaman Singh Pakhrin said that after the construction of the bridge, residents of 600 households will benefit.
