Bagmati's budget expenditure is only 6 percent

The Bagmati Provincial Government has been weak in terms of budget expenditure. The provincial government has spent only about 6.19 percent of the budget in the last three months of the current fiscal year.

According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning of the province, in the first three months of the current fiscal year, 11.48 percent, or 2.99 billion rupees, has been spent on current and 1.188 billion rupees, or 2.87 percent on capital. During this period, the financial progress has been zero.

In the current fiscal year 2082/083, the provincial government had allocated a total budget of 67.477 billion rupees. Out of which, 26.44 billion rupees were allocated for current and 41.443 billion rupees were allocated for capital.

Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Prabhat Tamang informed that the government was not able to spend the budget as planned in the first quarter due to the reshuffle of the government immediately after the budget was prepared and the recent political instability in the country. According to him, budget expenditure will increase from the second quarter. He said that the government is doing its homework for that.
