Traffic operations have been banned on the BP Highway during the night. Keeping in mind the disaster risk, all vehicles except ambulances and essential service vehicles have been banned from 5 pm on Thursday to 6 am on Friday on the Kavrebhanjyang-Bhakundebensi-Sindhuli section.
Assistant Chief District Officer Sudarshan Shrestha informed that all types of public and private passenger vehicles have been banned to prevent possible risks to vehicles and passengers from rain and floods.
The administration says that local police and traffic police can stop vehicles at any place at any time during floods in Roshi Khola and local Khahare Khola. He said that during that period, people have been requested not to go out unless it is absolutely necessary, especially not to travel far and at night.
The administration has also requested that settlements at risk of landslides and along the riverbanks be on high alert. He said that BP and Araniko Highway Projects (Road Division Bhaktapur and Suryabinayak-Dhulikhel Road Project) will keep dozers, excavators, loaders and other vehicles ready for immediate deployment on the road.
