A scooter driver has died after being hit by an Indian gas bullet in Lachka, Manahari Rural Municipality-7, Makawanpur. Two people, including a child, riding the scooter have been injured.
The deceased who died in the bullet accident is Kedar Shrestha, 30, of Sindhupalchowk Chautara Municipality-5, a scooter driver. The injured are Kedar's 28-year-old wife Saraswati Shrestha and 2-year-old son Prabin Shrestha, who were riding the scooter.
Deputy Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Makawanpur, Pushkar Bogati said that they are being treated at Alive Hospital in Chitwan. Saraswati's condition is serious and that of her son Prabin is normal, according to the police.
The Shrestha couple and their son were coming from Chitwan to Hetauda on a scooter. The body of the deceased Shrestha has been kept at Hetauda Hospital. At Lachka, Manahari-7, under the East-West Highway, a scooter (B.P.2-057 Pa 3230) coming from Chitwan to Manahari was hit by an Indian gas bullet (N 01 N 0280) coming from the same direction.
Gas bullet driver Mohammad Mateen, 55, from Bihar, India, has been taken into custody by the Manahari Police Station.
