Four people have died in three days in a series of motorcycle and scooter accidents in Chitwan during the Tihar festival.
According to information received from the Chitwan District Police Office, a young man died in a motorcycle accident in Khairhani, eastern Chitwan, on Tuesday night. The incident took place at midnight on the road inside Khairhani Municipality-2.
Police had reached the rescue operation based on information that the motorcycle (number 03-005 Pa 4302, Bagmati Province) had lost control and overturned. The motorcycle rider, who was seriously injured in the accident, was sent to the Bharatpur government hospital for treatment, but the doctor declared him dead at 1:15 am, said DSP Rabindra Khanal, spokesperson for the District Police Office. The name, surname and address of the young man, who is estimated to be 22/23 years old, have not been revealed.
