The fire caused property damage worth Rs 10 million, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Nuwakot, Bikram Lama. According to him, the fire that started in Balaram Balami's house also spread to the adjoining house.
'Due to an electrical fault, two houses made of stone and clay, including Rs 1 million in cash, Rs 2.5 million in gold and silver jewellery, Rs 1.8 million in grain and utensils, have been completely destroyed in the fire,' Pranau Lama said. 'The efforts of local residents and security personnel have prevented any loss of life and property.'
