A scooter driver died in Ramnagar, Chitwan on Thursday after being hit by a tourist bus. The deceased has been identified as Damodar Ghimire, 40, of Gorkha Choprak, said DSP Rabindra Khanal, spokesperson of the Chitwan District Police Office.
The accident occurred at Ramnagar in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1 on the Narayangadh-Muglin Road at 1:45 pm. Ghimire, who was riding a scooter (Ga 20 Pa 8559) from Narayangadh, was hit by a bus (Ba Pra 01-001 Ya 1684) coming towards Narayangadh. Ghimire, who was seriously injured in the collision, died at around 1:30 pm while undergoing treatment at the Chitwan Medical College Teaching Hospital in Bharatpur, DSP Khanal said.
The police have taken the bus and the driver under control.
