The Dhading section under the Prithvi Highway, which has been continuously blocked since Friday due to incessant rain, has been fully operational since 11:30 am.

Dhading section became very busy till Sunday morning due to continuous rain and landslides. On Saturday, vehicles entering and exiting Kathmandu on the Prithviraj Highway, which is the life line of the federal capital Kathmandu, were sent to their destination avoiding landslides.

On Saturday, although the police were asked not to travel on the highway, the vehicles that had already entered the Dhading section were diverted by the police to their destination. Chief District Officer Vijayraj Subedi, Chief of Police Bhesraj Rizal, Ganapati Aseem Shrestha of Bhairav Gana, Armed  Police force assistant Gulm Dhading and the head of highway security force were deployed throughout the day on Saturday.

About 700 vehicles that came to enter Kathmandu were saved by the rescue team of the security personnel after the landslide. Similarly, although the rain stopped in Dhading from Saturday night, the road was blocked by a landslide at Jamire Ghat in Benighat Rorang on Sunday morning.

After continuous efforts, after the landslide was removed at around 12 o'clock in the morning, traffic is now fully operational on the Dhading section of Prithvi Highway . It has been one-way since morning and with the landslides in other 4 places also moving away, now the road from Nagadhunga to Mouwakhola has started to operate safely.

Although Kathmandu did not stop exiting vehicles until some time ago, the Dhading police is facilitating the vehicles coming to Kathmandu from Chitwan and Tanahupatti to be sent to Kathmandu easily. Chief District Officer of Dhading, Subedi, said that since there is a lot of traffic coming from outside the district into Kathmandu, vehicles will not be driven in the public district for some time to avoid congestion.
