Tamakoshi rural municipality-1 Bhirket-Kalidah road of Daelkha under Pushpalal highway, which was blocked due to landslides, has come into one-way operation.
After the BP highway was blocked by landslides and the erosion of the Reishi canal, the vehicles from Khaetang-Saelukhumbu-Okhaldhunga-Ramechhap and other districts started going to the capital from Charikaet via Pushpalal highway. According to the police, the vehicles coming from that direction were stopped after the Kalidah section was washed away.
Most of the vehicles left from these districts started using this highway and the traffic has increased. Delekha police chief Gyan Kumar Mahatay said that the police have been mobilized at various places on the highway to manage the pressure. According to him, from Saturday afternoon to Sunday noon, about 500 vehicles went to the capital through this highway.
After heavy traffic on Saturday night, more than 300 vehicles coming from that area were held at Charikat and left for their destination on Sunday morning.
