Tourism professionals of Patihani Jagatpur area have celebrated the World Tourism Day on Saturday with a formal program when the tourist areas are deserted due to lack of tourists. The headquarter of the world-famous Chitwan National Park is located in Kasara Adai, and the tourism businessmen of this area were worried that the agitation led by Jen-G and the vandalism that took place during that time had a very negative impact on the tourism sector.

The tourism professionals who gathered in the meeting hall of Tharu Kalyankari in the ward office of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-22 wished that such an incident would never happen again. The situation of the country started to improve and the tourism business will come back into rhythm. But if this is the case, how will tourism work? What will happen to the country's economy when tourism sinks? Pahitani is an old tourist area of ​​Chitwan. In the year 2043, after Hotel Narayani Safari was put into operation in Pahitani Ghatgai, the foreign tourists visiting the park began to flock here . In October 2075, the government included Patihani among the hundred new tourist destinations. From February 2076, "Amrela Street" came into operation in Patihani. These last two activities have raised the fame of Pahitani even within the country, says Bishnuraj Mahato, Ward President of Bharatpur-22.

There are excellent tourist hotels like Into the Forest, River Bank, Kasara Resort, Solti Westend Resort of Solti Hotel Group, Jungle Villa, Jagatpur Lodge and Tiger Land Resort along with old Narani Safari. There are more than 40 other small and medium hotels. Especially foreign and domestic tourists who spend a little more money go to stay in these hotel resorts in Patihani and Jagatpur areas. It is a quiet place due to its rural surroundings. You can enjoy the nature of the Rapti river and the park's forest on the other side.

'This is the main tourist season . We would not be able to get a room to stay now. Those who booked in advance used to come in droves . If someone was added, it should have been said that there is no place to stay,'' said Keshav Dhakal from Salty West End Resort. Dhakal, who is also the secretary of the Kasra Tourism Business Committee, said that the suppression by the state and then the arson and vandalism in the main cities of the country, including the high administrative structures of the capital, had a negative impact on the tourism sector.

'After the incident of August 23 and 24, the bookings of our resort started to be cancelled. Bookings are being canceled until next January, February, he said. There were only 12 tourists in Solti's 52 comfortable rooms on Saturday. Not only because of the Gen-G movement, tourists also suffered when a landslide hit the main road connecting Kathmandu to Chitwan in the first week of October and affected traffic for a week. A group of 21 American tourists who traveled from Kathmandu to Solti suffered due to landslides.

Apart from two rooms of Vice President Choplal Pandey's Jagatpur Lodge, tourists have come to other rooms on Saturday. "Because of this, we have become optimistic," said Vice President Pandey. Krishna Prasad Sapkoto, president of Patihani's Ganganagar Dairy Cooperative, said that the milk, ghee, paneer, curd produced by them go to Pokhara, Bandipur and Gorkha and other tourist areas of the country including Chitwan. He said that due to the lack of tourist activity, there has been a decrease in the sale of the cooperative's products. Bishnuraj Mahato, Ward President of Bharatpur-22, says that with the increase of hotels in the Pahitani area, there has been a good impact on the income of the locals. He said that there are five cultural groups of the Tharu community in Ward No. 22 alone.

'They go to the hotel and show a cultural program in the evening  . Do other household chores throughout the day . Many locals have found employment in the hotel sector. The tribal Bote community, which is said to have a weak economic situation, has also benefited by joining tourism. Therefore, tourism is a great basis for economic development," said the Ward President Mahato. He was of the opinion that the tourism sector should not be affected by a crisis, and if a crisis occurs, everyone should overcome it together . He said that Chitwan, which is known in the world for safari tourism, can get enough benefits from this.
