On August 24, after the vandalism and arson of the Provincial Assembly building by the protesters, the meeting of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly has been disrupted. The Provincial Assembly Secretariat said that the protestors caused complete damage to both the old and newly constructed buildings of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, and that it is not possible to hold a meeting immediately.

The state assembly building, which was inaugurated only a month ago, has been completely damaged by fire. The old building is also in dilapidated condition due to fire. Purna Bahadur Darji, Secretary of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, said that the technical team suggested that the old building should not be used. "We have been told not to enter the old building now, now a decision will be made about the use only after re-testing," he said  . 

During the demonstration, apart from the Congress and Maoists, the offices of the parliamentary parties of UML, United Socialists, RPRPA, Nemkipa and our Nepali Party were also set on fire, according to the Secretariat of the Provincial Assembly.
