TP Sharma Timalsina, the former mayor of Namobuddha Municipality, has passed away. Sharma died at Dhulikhel Hospital today at 4 am during treatment.
He was seriously injured in an accident on the 10th of July last in BP highway at Namobuddha-2. Timalsina, who suffered a serious head injury, underwent emergency surgery on July 10. Even after that, he was not completely recovered, and in the meantime, more surgery was also done.
When two scooters collided, Sharma and his son Kishore Timalsina and another scooter driver were injured. Namobuddha Timalsina, who was elected as the mayor of the city in the 2074 local elections from CPN-UML, is also a former journalist and writer. His work titled "Khaldo-ekeko Nabubo" is in the process of being published and dozens of poems have been published.
Sharma also established TP Sharma Creative Journalism Award in collaboration with Nepal Journalist Federation Kavre and TP Sharma Youth Journalism Award in collaboration with Press Chautari Kavre to encourage young journalists.
