446 prisoners who were released from Chitwan-Bharatpur prison last week have returned to the prison according to the information of the administration. During the Gen-G movement, inmates started protesting and escaping in various prisons in the country, including Kathmandu Valley.

All 742 prisoners in Bharatpur Jail were released from the jail last Wednesday morning. On the same day, the administration office issued a notice saying that the prisoners would not be allowed to return to the prison and that no further action would be taken against those who return in this way. It was mentioned in the notice that those who do not return as per the notice will be dealt with according to the law.

'After the notification was issued, 446 prisoners have returned till yesterday' said Ravindra Dhungana, head of Bharatpur Prison Office. Spontaneous: It is estimated by the administration that those who come are almost there.

'Now we will watch for a couple more days. Most of those who have come out are under our surveillance. Spontaneous: Our mechanism will be mobilized to return those who do not want to come. On the contrary, there should not have been further action taken before that," said Superintendent of Police (SP) Govind Puri of Chitwan District Police Office.

Prison chief Dhungana has said that among those released, those who have been involved in serious crimes have been proven guilty and those who have been charged have returned. He says that he is taking details about which crimes and who has returned.

Rhino poachers and smugglers who killed rare wild animals like rhinoceros and traded their parts are also in Bharatpur jail. Some of them were caught by the park after a long time with the help of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police.

According to prison chief Dhungana, there were 48 prisoners in Bharatpur prison who had been convicted of rhinoceros crimes and those whose cases had not yet been decided. Prison chief Dhungana said that 36 of them have returned.
