A passenger died when a stone fell on a passenger bus at Ichchakamana rural municipality-6 Namsi bridge on Narayangadh-Muglin road on Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock.
According to Chitwan District Police Office, 46-year-old Aishwarya Kami of Lamjung Ghale Rural Municipality-3 died. A stone was pelted on the bus numbered 2B 1836 in which he was riding.
The bus was coming from Tanahun to Narayangadh. DSP Rabindra Khanal, spokesperson of Chitwan District Police Office, said that a stone that fell from the road penetrated through the door of the bus and seriously injured Aishwarya's face and head.
He was seriously injured and died during treatment at Purane Medical College's teaching hospital in Bharatpur. This road is at high risk of landslides. Landslides during the monsoons cause traffic to be blocked and passengers die frequently.
The Divisional Road Office of Bharatpur has appealed to the commuters to be careful while traveling through this road during winter.
