One person lost his life in Makwanpur when the shop was struck by lightning when he came to buy goods. The shop manager was injured.

 

37-year-old Badh Bahadur Chepang, who was living in Hetaunda sub-metropolis-16 Sano Akash Dhara, died on the spot. 28-year-old Amrita Syangtan, the shop manager, is among the injured.

Hetunda-15 Chepang went to the shop at Kamero Pani on Friday evening to buy goods. He was sitting near the refrigerator inside the shop when lightning started to fall along with the storm.

Shop owner Syangtan returned to the scene on Saturday morning saying that his condition was normal. District Police Office Makwanpur Police Inspector Bishwambharnath Sah said. Police inspector Sah has speculated that Chepang died due to a short circuit from the refrigerator after lightning struck the house and Syangtan fainted.

The incident site is about 5 kilometers away from the deceased Chepang's house. Although the residence is Hetounda-16 small Akash Dhara, the citizenship of Chepang belongs to Bara Nijgadh Municipality-13 .
