A young man died on Thursday while trying to fish in the river with a current. 24-year-old Vijay Thing of Hattisudhe Jitdamar, Bakaiya Rural Municipality-3, Makwanpur, died due to electrocution.

Vijay was electrocuted while fishing with a hook from an electric wire in the local Choucheau river of Bakaiya rural municipality. He was brought to Hetaunda Hospital for treatment. The police said that he died during treatment.

When a wound was found on the right hand of the deceased, during further investigation by the police, it was revealed that he died due to electrocution while fishing in the river, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson of District Police Office Makwanpur Shyamu Aryal said. The deceased's father, Lal Bahadur Thing, had also gone with his son to fish in the river, which is about two kilometers north of the house.
