On Wednesday, 50 goats were burnt to death due to a short circuit in a livestock farm at Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality-1 Gunsa, the district headquarters.
According to the District Police Office, Sindhupalchok, a sudden fire broke out in the Vidan Vidhi Agriculture Pashupanchi farm registered in the name of Vimala Shrestha at around 8:30 in the morning.
Out of total 85 goats in the farm, 29 were rescued and 6 were injured. District Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Karki said that the remaining 50 goats were burnt to death.
Local 44-year-old Chudamani Shrestha was injured while extinguishing the fire. The police said that he was being treated at Chautara Hospital for injuries to his head and hands.
