During the week-long vaccination campaign against lumpy skin disease, 96,000 cattle have been vaccinated in Bagmati province. In 13 districts of the state, 96 thousand 347 cattle have been vaccinated in the campaign starting from August 1.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development of the province had set a target of vaccinating 120,000 cattle. Only 80.29% of the target has been completed in this campaign.

Most of the 13 districts of the state  Vaccination has been done in Makwanpur. 24 thousand 695 doses in Makwanpur  Dr. Brajkishore Thakur, Head of Vaccinated Animal Services Office Makwanpur informed. 

The least vaccination has been given in Lalitpur. Out of 10,000 doses of vaccine provided to Lalitpur, only 3,609 doses have been administered. Chitwan, the animal service office that received the most vaccinations, only 6,000 doses were vaccinated throughout the week-long campaign. Among the 13 districts of Bagmati province, Chitwan is the district with the most animal husbandry. 

According to Dr. Ram Prakash Pradhan, Senior Animal Development Officer and Head of Livestock Development Division of the Ministry, the number of cows in Chitwan is 92,256 while the number of buffaloes is 72,200. Chitwan is the first district of the province in terms of milk production. Here, according to the ministry, 95 thousand 148 metric tons of milk is produced annually in Chitwan.

In this way, from milk production, the number of cattle is the highest and the ministry provided the highest number of 30,000 doses of vaccine. The ministry says that the vaccination was reduced in this campaign because the cattle farms in Chitwan bought and vaccinated themselves.

A week-long vaccination campaign against lumpy skin disease has been conducted from August 1 to 7. 4 lakh 81 thousand 771 metric tons of milk is being produced in 13 districts of Bagmati. According to the ministry, there are 694 thousand 217 cows and 549 thousand 182 buffaloes in 119 local levels of Bagmati.
