Bagmati Province Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniyan declared Thaha municipality as a 'fully institutionalized delivery municipality' during a ceremony on Sunday. It is known that all pregnant women go to health institutions and give birth safely. Maternal and newborn mortality rate in Thaha municipality is zero. Addressing the
program, Chief Minister Baniyan praised the people's representatives, health workers and others of Thaha Municipality and asked them to continue it. He said that the provincial government will give high priority to health, education, tourism and road development in the northern region. He said that not only in Makwanpur district, but also in Bagmati province, Thaha municipality has done remarkable work in the field of health. In the
program, UML chief whip Mahesh Bertaula said Thaha has done commendable work in the health sector.
Health Minister of Bagmati Province Kiran Thapa said that the Ministry of Health has established a birthing center to reduce maternal and newborn mortality and air rescue has also been carried out. Thaha municipality divided into 12 wards in the
program on 17 July 2076, Ward number 6 was declared the first fully institutionalized maternity ward. was Meghraj Balami, Head of Health Branch of Thaha Municipality, said that 100% of pregnant women in Thaha Municipality give birth in health institutions. Last year, 356 people gave birth in various health institutions of Thaha municipality. There are 12 health institutions in Thaha municipality.
