Indra Bahadur Thing, the chairman of Khanikhola Rural Municipality, took the initiative for this. Thing says that if a bridge is not built on the road connecting Kavre's Khanikhola and Makwanpur's Hetaunda, they have to walk for 2 hours.

Pregnant Sajina was carried on a stretcher by the youth of the village along with the village chairman, Ward No. 6  He walked for two hours from Majhtar to Bhorleni of Bagmati Rural Municipality-5 of Makwanpur. As the condition of the patient became critical, President Thing said that he carried the patient on a stretcher and left at 6 o'clock on Friday morning.

"During the rainy season, the means of transportation do not operate," he said, "the government has not approved the program for air rescue in this municipality, the patients here cannot get treatment on time." "Even if the bridge connecting Khanikhola Rural Municipality of Kavre and Bagmati Rural Municipality of Makwanpur is not built, we have to walk," he said. He said that he was taken to Hetaunda in a car and from there he had to be taken to Kathmandu in an ambulance.

In Bikat Mahabharat Rural Municipality, when the President's Women Upliftment Program is implemented, there is a facility of air rescue for women who are in danger of life. Khanikhola rural municipality is deprived of this service.

Considering the complex and emergency situation of the said municipality, which is geographically difficult, since 2077, there has been no response from the Center to include it in the President's Women Upliftment Program. "Since we were elected, we have been trying many times to include the municipality in the program," he said.

Under the President's Women's Upliftment Program, at-risk pregnant women and women in remote mountainous and mountainous areas are airlifted to designated hospitals.  It is mentioned in the procedure that rescue of the delivery will be done by ship and helicopter.

When discussing the reason for the delay in including Khanikhola rural municipality in the program, Anju Dhungana, the project head of the President's Women's Upliftment Program, informed that the procedure is currently being revised and during the revision, Khanikhola rural municipality of Kavre has also been included . "The work of including Khanikhola in the Presidential Women's Upliftment Program is in process," she said, "the file has been forwarded from this branch, the file for the program has yet to be approved by the above bodies from the ministry, and only then will the implementation work proceed." Since the beginning of this financial year, till August 5, 12 people have been rescued, 4 of them are from Mahabharat Rural Municipality of Kavre, she informed.
