A young man from Makwanpurgarhi rural municipality of Makwanpur was swept away by the local river on Friday afternoon.

25-year-old Vinod Bhomjan, a resident of Makwanpurgadhi Rural Municipality-2, was swept away by the Karki river around 3:30 on Friday. Jit Bahadur Ghimire, a local, said that while going home from the shop, the Bhomjan was run over and disappeared while trying to cross the river. 

As soon as we got the information that Bhomjan was swept away by the river and disappeared, a police team led by Police Inspector Birendra Rayamazhi reached the spot and searched the place, said Shyamu Aryal, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson of Makwanpur District Police Office. There was heavy rain in various parts of Makwanpur including Hetaunda on Friday afternoon. Due to the rain, there was flooding in the local creeks and rivers.
