In the financial year 2081/082, 28 girls under the age of 16 were raped in Hetaunda. Out of a total of 41 people who were raped, 28 of them were girls under the age of 16, according to the District Police Office, Hetaunda.

According to the police, 9 of them are under 10 years of age, while 19 of them have been working for 10 to 16 years. 13 people above the age of 16 have been raped.

Most of the girls between the ages of 5 and 16 have been raped by their neighbors and relatives. Not only in urban areas, girls in rural areas are also becoming victims of sexual violence.

During the investigation of the police, girls and women who are in the wrong company, watch obscene materials and drink alcohol are more victims of rape in urban areas.

Girls like this have been tempted to suffer. According to the police, most of the neighbors and relatives are involved in the rape of girls.

Maya Lama, head of Maaiti Nepal Makwanpur, who has been working in the field of children's and women's rights, said, "Girls are especially unsafe from relatives and neighborhoods."

He said that due to the lack of parental care and lack of awareness and poverty in the village, girls have become victims of rape. The previous ab ie  30 girls were raped in 080/081. During this period, 24 women over the age of 16 were raped.

The police have succeeded in arresting most of the girls involved in the rape. Maiti Nepal Hetaunda branch chief Lama who has been taking care of raped girls says, "Society should punish those who rape girls and the state should take strict action."

He says that all parties should play a positive role to rehabilitate the raped girl child in the society and family. According to paragraph 18 of the Civil Criminal Offenses (Code) Act, 2074, if the crime of rape is proven, there is a legal provision that imprisonment for 7 years to 10 years can be imposed for rape-related crimes, and an additional 5 years imprisonment in case of a disabled person.
