The police have arrested Dhruv Khadka, Chitwan district secretary of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) majority.

Shalikram Lamsal, head of surveyor's office in Khairhani, eastern part of Chitwan, was attacked by some people yesterday afternoon in his office.

Chitwan police said that Khadka was arrested for his involvement in the same incident. DSP Ravindra Khanal informed that Khadka, who was arrested on Tuesday, is in the custody of the District Police Office.

Khanal said that nine pamphlets were also recovered from Khadka. Deepak, in charge of CPN Majority Chitwan, issued a press statement and demanded Khadka's release.
