Yogesh Thing of Mahabharat Rural Municipality-6 Lamatol took his pregnant wife Sunita Thing to the birthing center of Bankhuchaur Health Chowki located in Ward 6 on the morning of 23rd July after suffering from labor pains. Yogesh was confident as the health workers said Sunita's health was normal. Sunita was admitted to the birthing center at 7 pm to give birth. In the beginning, his health condition was fine. From the next morning, the health condition was not as expected by the health workers.

She informed that despite trying to rescue from 11 am, the helicopter of the Nepalese army arrived only at 4:30 pm due to bad weather. After being rescued by an army helicopter and taken to Parokar Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in Thapathali, Kathmandu, a daughter was born at 9:30 pm on July 24th. He said, 'The situation was very critical, because they were rescued by helicopter, they were able to get treatment quickly, the lives of the mother and child were saved, the child has been told to be treated here for a week because of an infection.' He was successfully delivered at 1:30 pm. After 12 hours of delivery, Sujita's health started showing problems. According to Anami Poornima Tumsing of Gokule health post, her urine stopped and her legs began to swell.
'We tried everything we could from here, when the situation became complicated, we corresponded with the municipality and the district to send her to Kathmandu by helicopter,' she said, 'We informed the municipality and administration from 10 am on July 25, due to the weather and geographical conditions, we could only send her to Kathmandu by helicopter at 6 pm.'
On 24th and 25th of July from Mahabharat Rural Municipality of Kavre, the army airlifted the pregnant women and the new-born women due to health problems. In Mahabharat Rural Municipality, 4 pregnant women and their mothers were rescued by air during the 4th week of July. Dev Kumari Pakhrin of Ward 7, who came to give birth at the Bankhuchaur health post in Ward 6 on 8th July, was taken to Kathmandu by an army air ambulance the next day after her labor was not satisfactory. Similarly, 20-year-old Renuka Lungeli's Goku of Mahabharata-1 was sent to Kathmandu by helicopter on July 13 after she could not give birth for 18 hours at the health post.
In Mahabharat Rural Municipality, 16 thousand 69 residents have been affected due to the lack of fast road network, bridges, and well-equipped health facilities. Transport vehicles do not operate here during the rainy season. According to Kanchhalal Jimba, chairman of the rural municipality, Pinthali-Rajbas-Charkilla-Devitar road connecting Mahabharata is blocked due to landslides. "The landslides that come with the rains and the bridge has not been built on the road connecting the municipality," he said. He said that there is an obligation to rescue emergency patients and those who cannot be treated at the local health post by helicopter. According to him, in the three weeks of July, 4 pregnant women and those in labor have been sent to Kathmandu by helicopter for further treatment. "The landslide blocked the road, there is no bridge, so there is no way to drive. It takes 8-10 hours to reach the district headquarters," he said. However, he informed that the municipality is trying to provide quality health services.
2 in the financial year 2077/78, 5 in 2078/79, 4 in 2079/80, 5 in 2080/81 and 4 in less than a month in 2082/83, 20 people have been rescued by helicopter so far, according to the health branch of the rural municipality. In the last financial year, no one had to be rescued by air. The government has been providing air rescue facilities through the President's Women Upliftment Program to bring pregnant and delivery women from remote districts who are in danger of life to hospitals with facilities.
In the procedure issued in 2075, women with continuous long labor pains, difficulty in giving birth, death of a child in the womb, swollen limbs during pregnancy, excessive bleeding, and anemia are defined as life-threatening pregnant and postpartum women. It is mentioned that the rescue of the pregnant woman will be done by ship and helicopter. According to the procedure, residents of Kavre's Mahabharat Rural Municipality and Chaunrideurali Rural Municipality have got facilities.
