A test has been carried out by running a tipper loaded with goods on the belay bridge constructed in Simkhola under the Kulekhani hydropower project dam.
"How many tons of vehicles can cross the bridge, vehicles will be operated from the bridge after its carrying capacity is determined," said Navin Singh, head of the Directorate of Transport Infrastructure, Hetaunda, "we will confirm that work today and formally make a small program to put the bridge into operation." Dinesh Chandra Devkota, Member of Parliament Mahesh Bertaula, Chief Singh of Transport Infrastructure Directorate Hetaunda, Senior Division Chief Chandradev Bhatt, Village Chairman DK Pudasaini and others inspected the bridge.
Belybridge connection was started here from June 28. Gaurav Engineers Pvt Ltd has taken a contract worth 18.8 million rupees to build a paved access road to keep the Beilibridge and to build the damaged road around the bridge.
After Kulekhani was filled with heavy rains on October 11 and 12, when the gate was opened to prevent 'overflow', the road along with the Simkhola bridge in the lower part of Kulekhani Dam located in Indrasarovar Rural Municipality-2 was damaged. Now the traffic has been diverted from the river.
