Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Indra Bahadur Baniyan is being appointed as the sixth Chief Minister of Bagmati State Government on Tuesday. The oath-taking program is scheduled at 4 pm.

Baniyan, who is also the Congress Bagmati state president, submitted a claim to the chief minister for the formation of a new government at the state chief's office on Monday.

After the resignation of Bahadur Singh Lama was accepted, the state chief Deepak Prasad Devkota called for submission of claims for the appointment of the chief minister by 2 pm on Tuesday.

Baniyan submitted the claim on Monday with the support of 64 people including 37 from Congress and 27 from UML. The support of 56 MPs is required to form the government in the 110-member state assembly.

UML minister new

UML has finalized the names of those who will be given the responsibility of minister. One minister from UML who was involved in the previous government will be repeated while the other five will be new faces.

The recurring minister is Kiran Thapa Magar, who has taken charge of the Ministry of Health. He has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Health this year as well.

Among the new faces are Jairam Thapa Labor, Employment and Transport Minister, Bharat Bahadur KC Forest and Environment Minister, Madhusudan Poudel Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister, Dr. Dinesh Chandra Devkota will be the Minister of Physical Infrastructure Development and Bindu Shrestha will be the Minister of Industry, Commerce, Lands and Administration.

After the oath-taking of the Chief Minister, the ministers represented by UML are also prepared to take oath. Banian, the state president of the Congress, informed that there is a discussion about who will be the minister from the Nepali Congress and after the names are finalized, they are ready to take the oath on Tuesday.
