Bahadur Singh Lama, the Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, is going to register his resignation at the provincial head office on Monday. Chief Minister Lama, who announced his resignation on Sunday, is on his way to Kathmandu.

Chief Minister Lama has handed over the resignation letter to his chief private secretary Chhatra Bahadur Lama to get it registered at the provincial head office. As soon as the provincial head office opens from Kathmandu, he will submit the resignation of the chief minister to the provincial chief, and if not, he will register it in the office. 

The Chief Minister of Bagmati province announced his resignation by holding a press conference on Sunday evening. Lama has gone to Kathmandu. Provincial Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota was discharged from the hospital on Sunday evening only. 

The office said that Devkota will arrive in Hetaunda on Monday morning. After Lama's resignation letter is registered, Provincial Chief Devkota will call for the formation of a new government according to Article 168(2) of the Constitution. 

Soon after the call of the provincial chief, the Congress-UML alliance is preparing to submit a claim to Indra Bahadur Baniyan, who was elected as the leader of the Congress parliamentary party, to become the chief minister of Bagmati province.
