Thirteen goats have died due to the spread of PPR disease in Bhimeshwar Municipality-1 Deurali of Dolakha. Thirteen goats died in one week due to the disease spread from Vinod Basnet's goat farm.

The PPR disease infection appeared in goats brought by Basnet from outside the district to be reared commercially. Prakash Thapa, Information Officer of the District Animal Services Office, said that the disease was spread from them to others. Only 12  goats from Basnet have died.

Thapa said that the disease may have spread to 6 more cowsheds and asked the locals to inform them as soon as the symptoms appear.

After the spread of PPR in goats, the information officer of the District Animal Services Office, Thapa, said that goats are being sealed and treated in the area. "This disease is very deadly and contagious, it spreads rapidly," he said. "After 3 weeks of PPR, it can be seen in other goats, if not treated in time, there will be a huge loss to the farmer."

There is a ban on transporting goats from areas where the infection has spread. Thapa informed that the goats of that area are being vaccinated.
